Advance Passenger Information or API is passport and associated information which the governments of various countries require British Airways to collect from passengers prior to travel.

If your itinerary includes one or more country that has requested API, the information required will be highlighted to you when you make your booking.

For full details regarding Advance Passenger Information please click here.

It is important you give us this information prior to arrival at the airport to avoid extra time spent queuing or checking-in.

You can provide this information online through ba.com:

When servicing servicing your booking online through the Manage My Booking facility.
You can access Manage My Booking directly if you click here, you will need your six character booking reference.
When checking-in on-line.
Advance Passenger Information can be amended once it has been entered on ba.com. For further details and instructions on how to do this please click here.

What happens to anyone refusing to provide Advance Passenger Information?
Passengers who refuse to supply Advance Passenger Information may not be allowed entry to these countries and therefore will not be accepted for travel by British Airways.

Can passengers still provide Advance Passenger Information at the airport?
It is strongly recommended that whenever possible this information should be provided before going to the airport as this will reduce airport congestion and the amount of time you need to spend checking-in.

Please note: Advance Passenger Information for infants can only be provided at the airport.
