For all of us going December :waggle:
Theres not much to look forward too
WALLACE AND GROMIT: THE CURSE OF THE WERE-RABBIT
The much loved duo from Aardman’s Oscar-winning clay animated shorts star in a brand new feature length comedy adventure, as they set out to discover the mystery behind the garden sabotage that plagues their village, and threatens their giant vegetable growing contest. Terrific animation, this is a brilliant big-screen debut for the cheese-loving Wallace and his ever-faithful dog, Gromit.
THE 40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN
The title says it all! A nerdy guy who's never 'done the deed' is goaded by his buddies into popping his cherry. Essentially a one-joke movie but nevertheless very funny, this thoroughly adult comedy thankfully hasn't been toned down, otherwise it would surely have lost the true gems of crude and sometimes downright shocking humour which make it one of the funniest movies this year.
SKY HIGH
Set in a world where superheroes are as common as Burberry check, young Will Stronghold, the son of The Commander and Jetstream tries to find a balance between being a normal teenager and an extraordinary boy with superpowers. Smart and funny, adults may have low expectations but turn out to be pleasantly surprised by this cheesy, Kurt Russell winner.
GOAL!
When a football scout at a local match in Los Angeles spots Mexican born Santiago Munez, he's promised a trial at Newcastle United, provided he gets himself to England. Packed full of star-studded cameos - including Alan Shearer - this energetic, feel-good sports romp is sure to get you revved up for the 2006 World Cup. Bend it Like Beckham it ain't, good footy fun it is.
OLIVER TWIST
An adaptation of the classic Dickens tale of a young orphan boy who gets involved with a gang of pickpockets in 19th century London. Forced to live in a workhouse, he escapes and is lured into a world of crime by the sinister Fagin. A classic for a new generation, Kingsley is brilliant as Fagin, although fans of the 1968 musical may be wishing the cast would burst into song. Altogether now, 'Consider yourself ?'
FOUR BROTHERS
After their adoptive mother is murdered during a grocery store holdup, the Mercer Brothers reunited to take the matter of her death into their own hands. As they track down the killer they quickly realise that their old ways of doing business have new consequences. Marky Mark's back with another Funky Bunch in this stylish revenge flick from acclaimed director John Singleton.
MRS HENDERSON PRESENTS
When the eccentric Laura Henderson is widowed she decides to throw all of her energy into reopening a rundown Soho theatre. A well-to-do pillar of the community, she soon causes a stir by introducing nude actresses to her stage, presented as art. From the director of Dirty Pretty Things comes another pitch perfect comedy drama. Dame Judi is superbly witty in this classy production - look out for Pop Idol Will Young making his big screen as Bertie.
THE POLAR EXPRESS
Based on the popular book, this heart-warming movie combines state-of-the-art technology and a good old-fashioned story. On Christmas Eve a young boy who doubts the existence of Santa boards a magical train headed for the North Pole and the home of Father Christmas. Sure to give you a warm, fuzzy feeling inside, and definitely destined to become a festive favourite with kids and adults alike
