CPI Euromix: RCS Silica Dust Solution

Project information

Project: Silica Dust Solution
Client: CPI Euromix
Products: SkipVAC + Absolut HEPA filter

Project Background

CPI Euromix external H&S inspection team flagged the risk of RCS passing through the SkipVAC’s exhaust system and standard filters, Head of Operations Craig Buttenshaw asked DISAB UK’s Managing Director Richard Eve to look for a solution.

The solution

By retro-fitting a SkipVAC with their Absolut HEPA filter, DISAB UK has enabled CPI Euromix to minimise respirable crystalline silica (RCS) to a level where it couldn’t be detected, when using their industrial vacuum machines for cleaning workplaces.

All of the CPI Euromix SkipVACs are now being modified with the DISAB Absolut HEPA filter, reinforcing the company’s reputation as a progressive employer that puts health and safety first.

“I was hoping the modified SkipVAC would meet the HSE workplace requirements of less than 0.1mg/m3, but I was very pleased to be told by our independent inspection team that ‘No RCS was found’. This is a real step forward in our goal to improve employee wellbeing, and we’re now making sure all our SkipVACs are being modified with DISAB’s Absolut HEPA filters.”

WHY DISAB?

 CUT TIME AND SAVE MONEY

Waste removal is faster, easier and more efficient, less time is spent by operators cleaning and large capacity collection mean less time spent emptying too. So downtime is significantly reduced.

Large deposits can be sucked up quickly from virtually anywhere and safely disposed of, or recycled back into process. So, if recovered material is valuable, huge savings can be achieved.

Because our powerful vacuum technology removes fine particles from the atmosphere, there’s far less dust to get into the moving parts of your plant or damage bearings, which will mean greater reliability, less downtime, and a longer shelf life for your equipment.

 IMPROVE HEALTH AND SAFETY

There’s no need for lengthy, back-breaking manual collection. Thanks to our fully enclosed systems and highly advanced filters, harmful dusts are instantly removed and safely contained, minimising the risk of dust exposure to your employees.
